This designation is a professional certification mark conferred by the CFP Board of Standards

In November of 2006 I graduated from an 18 month degree program administrated by the College for Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado.  I subsequently passed the arduous two day Certified Financial Planner™ exams which cover the financial planning process and planning aspects of insurance, investments, taxation, retirement and estate planning.  I was awarded the coveted CFP® license on November 27th, 2007.
To me, the most important aspect of being a licensed financial planner is that the CFP® designation requires a practitioner to act as a “fiduciary” for their clients.  This means every part of my advice as a financial planner must benefit the client and not my bottom line.  I therefore do not accept commissions by selling insurance products or charging to manage client’s portfolios, because I believe there is an inherent conflict of interest in doing so.  I charge an hourly fee for advice and act as an agent between my clients and their insurance agents and stock brokers.  You can be assured that my advice is clear and unbiased.
Maintaining my Certified Financial Planner™ credential requires 30 hours of continuing education per year so I am up to date on all five areas of planning expertise required to advise you on your finances.

Everything from paying off student loans to saving for retirement is part of the process of reaching financial freedom.  I’m here to help you get there..
